David R. Tarella, CLU ®, ChFC®

As a financial services professional, David is a strategic thinker with a highly innovative mindset. He founded Tarella Financial Group to meet the needs of business owners and executives. As a Chartered Financial Consultant, David brings extensive knowledge and understanding as he recommends solutions for his client’s retirement planning, estate planning, wealth management, as well as business succession and executive and employee compensation and benefits. He excels at helping his clients to crystallize their goals while helping them create a road map for their success.

As a charter Member agent of The Nautilus Group®, a Service of New York Life, David belongs to an elite group of financial professionals and has exclusive access to the in-house support of planning professionals with credentials in law, taxation, accounting, insurance and finance. David is also an Investment Adviser Representative with Eagle Strategies LLC, a Registered Investment Adviser. The combination of resources of The Nautilus Group® and Eagle Strategies LLC enhance David’s ability to provide a more comprehensive platform for his high net worth clients and business clients.

While serving his clients in the past 27 years, David has received numerous industry awards and recognitions including serving as President of New York Life’s Agent Advisory Council, 1996-97, Board of Directors, The Nautilus Group, 1998, President, Board of Directors of New York Life Agents Reinsurance Company, 2006-2008, and a consistent 27 year member of MDRT, which is recognized throughout the industry as the standard of excellence in life insurance sales performance. David holds an A.A.S. in hotel management from Paul Smiths College in upstate New York, and earned his CLU®and ChFC ® designations from The American College, Bryn Mawr, PA. Deeply connected to his community, David currently serves on the boards of The Lake George Opera, and Saratoga Bridges.

Michael R. Testa, CRPS®

Michael specializes in helping families and business owners organize and simplify their financial house and maintain and active role in keeping it that way forever. Michael utilizes his resources with the Tarella Financial Group in a structured manner to best provide the right solutions for clients to ultimately follow their dreams and to stay the course actively.

Michael has been in the industry for a total of 12 years with the past 10 served at Merrill Lynch. He was born and raised in the Capital Region and extended his education at Siena College in Loudonville, NY where he graduated with a degree in Investment Management. Active in the community Michael holds positions and supports non-profit organizations including the Albany Society of Advanced Philanthropy and the Schenectady County Chamber. Michael also enjoys investing some of his time into staying active by participating in any athletic fundraising functions to help support local communities and charities.

Michelle D. Powers

Michelle is a Licensed Service Assistant to David R. Tarella and is responsible for the underwriting process of Life, Long Term Care and Disability Income policies as well as all Fixed Annuity Products. She also assists in the daily operations of the day-to-day business to ensure that clients receive quality service.

Michelle has worked for Tarella Financial Group since 2002. She has over 30 years’ experience in the insurance industry, and her extensive background in life insurance makes her a great asset to Tarella Financial Group.

Michelle has a New York State Life Accident and Health License. She lives in Queensbury and has two daughters, a son in law and two grandchildren.

Patrick Younis

Patrick Younis joined Tarella Financial Group in the fall of 2012 as an assistant. Mr. Younis has worked in the financial service industry since 2000. While working in finance, Patrick has earned his Series 6, 63 and 7 FINRA registrations. Patrick has also earned an Associates Degree in Accounting.

Patrick and his wife are the proud parents of an 12-year-old daughter and a 10-year-old son. Patrick’s knowledge of the financial service industry and his customer service skills make him an asset to the TFG team.
